Raven's End Books: The Horror Bookshop

The Dark and Stormy Book Club

For lovers of queer dark fantasy and horror. Takes place the first Tuesday of every month (starting September 2024). Book club picks are 10% off.

Like you, we love all things horror. Whether it’s reading a scary book or snuggling in to watch the latest slasher, we are here for it. We want everyone to find exactly what they need at our shop whether it’s body horror, Indigenous folklore, or queer stories. If we don’t have it, we’ll be happy to order it for you.

FAQ

What is Horror? A lot of people assume that horror is gore. While a lot of gore IS horror, a lot of horror isn't gore. Horror is whatever makes you uneasy, fearful, or disgusted. We are not here to judge what frightens you. We're here to help find what scares you. What if I find something offensive in one of your books? Raven's End Books strives to be a welcoming community for everyone. We do not condone transphobia, homophobia, misogyny, islamophobia, or any other exclusionary or prejudiced mindsets and/or behaviours. However, we cannot guarantee that you will not encounter these in one of our books. Should you have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to discuss it with us. What is your refund policy? Sometimes, a book doesn't land. We get it. If, within 10 days of purchase or reception, you're not into a book, you can return it for a full refund or exchange. The book must be in resellable condition. If you are unable to make a workshop, if it is more than seven days prior to the event, we will be happy to provide a refund. If it is within seven days, we will do our best to fill your spots. If we do, we will be happy to provide a full refund. Do you buy used books? We do buy used horror books and graphic novels but we do not accept everything, including Stephen King and Dean Koontz. We ask that you schedule an appointment with us so that we can review your items. Please message us at info@ravensendbooks.com with the subject line 'Used Books Appointment' to schedule a time to bring in your items. Do you accept commissioned work? If we feel the merchandise or book aligns with our store's ethos, we would be happy to have your work line our shelves. Please contact us if you're interested in learning more about our commission process. Do you host events? Absolutely. If you are interested in hosting a special event in our space, contact us to find out more. Do you give donations? We wish we could provide donations for everyone but as a small business, it is not feasible. We have specific charitable organizations with whom we have chosen to work, so, unfortunately, while we love socials, we do not give donations.

So You Wanna Be a Vendor?

If we feel that it's a good fit for our store, we'll contact you with further details regarding our consignment process. Weekend Market Each weekend, we host a special local maker in our store. We will provide the table, chairs, and power (if needed). If you are interested, please contact us for more details.
